Did you know that no fewer than 5,000 of 93,000 people who work in the automotive sector work in the recycling sector? The majority of them work in one of the 225 ARN car dismantling companies. So, it is very clear that there is much more recycling in the automotive sector than many people think.
ARN fulfils various roles for the people who work in the recycling sector. ARN is a catalyst, facilitator and often also the lubricant for partnerships between various parties in the chain. Efficiency is a key concept behind this. Firstly, you do not do recycling alone, but rather you work best when you strive towards effectiveness and efficiency with all the links in the chain.
Sustainable Development Goals
For the second year, ARN has submitted itself to the yardstick of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with the motto ‘lean and green’ in mind. The colored SDGs shown opposite apply specifically to the content of this page.
A partner that facilitates
ARN wants to be a partner and facilitator as far as possible for people in the sector, for instance car dismantling companies and their staff. “Contact is smooth. If we have any questions, we call them. If there’s a technical issue, I can speak to someone right away. They’re our experts, our helpdesk”, said Gerrit van der Hoeven (De Populier Car Dealership and Recycling) on how the partnership works in practice.
“If you get stuck on something, you just give ARN a call. Whether it’s a technical issue, or a question about recycling drive batteries, just call them and they solve it. Incidentally, we don’t see many of those batteries and this is all still new for us. But they will start to appear”, said Van der Hoeven, who is now the former director of the company run by his son.
