Recycled materials

From waste to raw material to new application

The supply of raw materials we need for our consumer goods is finite. More and more individuals and businesses are utilising the opportunities of material reuse. In this way, we will prevent the total exhaustion of the one resource on which we as human beings are utterly dependent: our own planet Earth.

Riverbank protection and sheet piling: the possibilities are endless

In collaboration with the ARN Post Shredder Technology (PST) plant Duvano produces plastic products based on renewed raw materials. The plant processes the plastic residue from end-of-life vehicles to form new raw materials. Using these raw materials, it is possible to then produce planks, posts and beams as well as other components for riverbank protection and sheet piling.

For every kilometre of plastic riverbank protection, 25 trees no longer need to be felled and 22,000 kg CO2 emissions are avoided. The same plastic riverbank protection is expected to have a useful life of 40 years. Thanks to the huge variety of sizes and lengths, plastic profiles from Duvano can be used in many different ways, for example in industrial and office building, landscape gardening, on campsites, in the shipping industry and in the agricultural sector.

Riverbank protection

The hard-wearing plastic products come in a wide range of dimensions and lengths and are therefore extremely versatile. Key features of these hard-wearing plastic products are that they don't splinter or crack, they don't absorb moisture and they are 100% rot-proof.

Added value

• Plastic is rot-proof, guaranteeing a longer useful life than wood. Wood must be replaced every 10 to 15 years.
• Useful life of more than 40 years means lower replacement costs than wood.
• Unlike wood, plastic does not work so the tongue and groove joints do not become warped.
• The product can be made to measure (no cutting losses so lower costs).
• In terms of price, plastic can compete with Azobe hardwood.
• The use of recyclate material is sustainable and better for the environment. For every kilometre of riverbank protection: 22.000 kg CO2 are avoided, 25 trees no longer need to be felled.
