Management fee

Management fee for Li-ion propulsion
batteries and Li-ion starter batteries

Participants in the ARN Management Plan pay a management fee to ARN, when they place starter batteries and propulsion batteries on the market. This works according to a so-called pay-as-you-sell system. For every drive battery sold, a fee is paid in advance to cover the costs of future collection and recycling by ARN. As a rule, whenever they sell a car with a propulsion battery, dealerships charge this amount separately. The fee for starter batteries covers the administrative costs for compliance.

The management fees for Li-ion batteries for hybrid and full-electric cars were once again reduced as from 1 January 2021. The approx. 15 percent cost reduction was made possible by a variety of factors, including the expected fall in processing costs in the future.
