René Lust (Autodemontage Lust) Best Apprentice Master 2015
On Thursday 12 November, OOMT announced that René Lust from the car dismantling company Autodemontage Lust has been voted Best Apprentice Master in the Mobility Sector for 2015. Zwanny Naber, Vice President of OOMT explained. “René was chosen because of the combination of positive energy, endless patience and his personal approach to guiding and teaching his apprentices.” René was delighted with his brand-new title and took receipt of the prize to much applause.
Apprentice masters make the difference!
When selecting the three nominees – Jan van Steenis, Robbert van der Meer and René Lust – in August, the jury was impressed by the number of entries, and the high quality requirements the apprentice masters impose on themselves in fulfilling their role. “Throughout the sector we want young people to be inspired and encouraged to develop their talents. Apprentice masters make all the difference in that process! Today it’s about placing all apprentice masters, not just René, in the spotlight,” explained Marvin Raaijmakers, Jury member and President of the OOMT.
During the jury visits, it became clear that Jan, Robbert and René attach much importance to getting to know the person behind the apprentice. All three nominees are convinced that apprentices learn best when you know how to motivate them. In addition to the jury visits, many people supported the nominees via social media, and the reactions were heart-warming. This month’s issue of OOMT Magazine Booster will include a full interview with René Lust. Interviews with Jan van Steenis and Robbert van der Meer are available via facebook.com/magazinebooster.
The presentation was held at Coronel Karting in Huizen. As well as attending the presentation, 40 apprentice masters took part in an inspiring workshop, a Meet&Greet with Tim Coronel and an exciting kart race. As Marvin Raaijmakers continued, “The investment made by businesses in their apprentices and apprentice masters are of key importance for the future of the mobility sector. By holding this competition, on behalf of the entire sector, OOMT aims to thank all businesses who focus attention on the role of apprentice masters for their important work.”
