New website for Het Nieuwe Rijden
The new version of the eco-driving website also went live this week. The aim of the eco-driving programme is to encourage car drivers, professional drivers and vehicle fleet managers to demonstrate more energy-efficient procurement, travel and driving behaviour. Eco-driving is one of the many tools being used to bring about a considerable reduction in CO2 emissions from road transport.
As well as having a positive effect on fuel consumption and as a result CO2 emissions, eco-driving also has positive effects on the emissions of other substances, road safety, damage as a result of accidents, comfort, absenteeism due to sickness, vehicle maintenance, the useful life of vehicle components and noise nuisance.
The eco-driving programme is undertaken by the Institute for Sustainable Mobility (IvdM) on behalf of the ANWB, BOVAG and RAI Vereniging. Visit the eco-driving website via www.hetnieuwerijden.nl
