Recycling fee for cars
The recycling fee is payable on all cars that are registered in the Netherlands. In addition to new cars, this now includes all imported cars that are registered in the Netherlands for the first time.

Together with the affiliated companies in the recycling chain, ARN ensures that at least 95 per cent of an end-of-life vehicle, by weight, is gainfully reused. We help importers by assuming their producer responsibilities.

In 2021, together with our partners, ARN managed to gainfully reuse 98.7 per cent of end-of-life vehicles, by weight. For batteries too, the attained recycling level of over 70 per cent was comfortably above the legal norm.
