Cyber Attack/Hijacking
The possibility of our ICT systems being compromised is real. Therefore, an ICT disaster/security program has been developed (externally reviewed) and implemented.
PST Factory Failure
The risk of the PST factory failing is not negligible, given the nature of the material to be processed. This operation falls outside the responsibility of ARN (belongs to owner HKS). ARN has therefore primarily prepared measures to potentially divert these shredder streams to other processing routes and/or temporary storage (plan B).
No Contract Renewal with Importers (RAI Association)
ARN implements the mandatory extended producer responsibility (EPR) on behalf of importers/manufacturers. The possibility of the contract not being renewed would remove the foundation under ARN. The impact of this is very large, the risk is considered small.
At the beginning of 2025, it became clear that the majority of importers agreed to extend the generally binding declaration for the period 2026-2030. This means that the Auto Recycling Foundation (SAR) collectively meets the obligation on behalf of importers and manufacturers within the framework of extended producer responsibility.
The SAR commissions ARN for the implementation.
Contract Error by Processor/Collector
There is a possibility that a processor or collector does not adhere to the agreements made, causing the recycling percentage to be too low. One of the actions to mitigate this risk is that ARN contracts an additional processor/collector for each stream.
