ARN Auto Recycling
In the Netherlands, ARN Auto Recycling is responsible for managing the recycling of end-of-life cars, and is charged with ensuring that the legal standard of recycling 85% of vehicle weight is achieved. In 2015, this legal standard will be raised to 95%.
Together with a network of almost 300 partners in the chain, ARN Auto Recycling processes end-of-life vehicles in an environmentally sound way. The recycling chain starts at the vehicle dismantling company – this is what used to be called the scrap yard. At a vehicle dismantling company, materials and liquids are removed from the end-of-life car. Collection companies collect the materials and liquids at the vehicle dismantling company and transport them to the processing companies. At the processing companies, the materials undergo high-end processing.
